Blacksmith Institute releases the new report:
"Top Ten Toxic Threats in 2013: Cleanup, Progress, and Ongoing Challenges"
Names a NEW top ten list among the world's most toxic places in 2013
Teleconference: Monday, November 4, 2013, 11am, EST
The Blacksmith Institute and Green Cross Switzerland will release the new 2013 report, Top Ten Toxic Threats in 2013: Cleanup, Progress, and Ongoing Challenges.
The Blacksmith Institute and Green Cross Switzerland have conducted a review of the Top Ten polluted places from 2006 and 2007. Significant progress has been made at some sites, while others still urgently need attention. These efforts are highlighted and a new Top Ten is proposed.
The Blacksmith Institute has now identified thousands of sites, in low- and middle-income countries, where governments have little to no remediation resources. The international community needs to step in and make toxic clean up a priority alongside other development and sustainability goals.
